computer tuning (auto trans)

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I gotta ask.

Is it possible (with one of those computer tunes) to make the manumatic NOT downshift into first gear?

If it is possible the only problem I could see is the car not going into neutral at low rpm's and getting messed up because its no longer going back into first like its programmed to.

Am I crazy or is this something that could be accomplished?

And yes i know about starting off in second... but i want to start off in first! ,the whole point of having that short first gear is to get better fuel efficiency is it not? .... plus you can really make that thing take off with it too.

Yes i could start off using first and then just throw it back into auto as im slowing down but that is just freakin annoying...I know I know I should have just bought the car stick... but i was thinking of my wife and baby on the way so i got auto for her.

You pretty much answered your own question, lol. Should have bought a stick! I like my tap shift, but I have Trifecta and that makes tap shift my sport mode, lol. If the car is new enough, see if the dealer will trade off for a stick...
