This thread will show you how to remover the headliner.

    Difficulty rating
7 there are many screws and you will need around 2 hours to take off and put back together

    Skill required rating
3 there is not alot of skill required in this prodject. mostly pulling, unscrewing, and tool/screw placement management.

    Tools Required

small and skinny Flathead screw driver
    needle nose pliers
    torqx t20 bit
    5/16 socket

Disclaimer: Please read all direction throughly prior to attempting. For electrical safety; disconnect battery by disconnecting the negative terminal. Wait 15 minutes before starting to allow all excess electricity to disapate.

To start you will want to pull off the pillars. Start at the top and give it a nice tug.
    #1pillar 2.jpg

once the top section pulls out far enough you will see that the top is conected buy a hanger clip.
    #2Pillar 3.jpg

to get the clip off the pillar push the latch and slide the clip off.
    #3Pillar 4.jpg

from here you can pull the pillars out and lay them on the dash so theres no need to disconect the tweeters.
    #4Pillar 5 last.jpg

Next you want to remove to plastic cover above the rearview mirror. just push the center and pull each side out.

From here you are going to the visors. Use a smal flat head to get under the disk covering the screws and move the disk out of the way.
    #6Visor 1.jpg

from here remove the three screws and place them where you wont loose/mix them up.
    #7Visor 2.jpg

Now in this slot there are two clips that need to be squeezed together and pushed through utilizing the needle nose pliers
    #8Visor 3.jpg

use your small flathead to lift the cover
    #9visor 4.jpg

and remove the only screw inside and it pulls straight out

to take off the map light trim just get either your flathead screw driver or use your fingers under the trim and pull it all the way around until it comes off.
    #11map light.jpg

same principle for the clear lense
    #12map light.jpg

remove the bulbs and the single screws on both sides. just leave the rest sitting in place and we will come back to this part.
    #13map light.jpg

to get the handles off lift up the covers using a finger or the flathead. once its open notice that it holds the handle down this will make reinstallation much easier.
    #14handle.jpg

once you remove the screws. lift up on the handle and pull it out. now place those screws back in their holes and close the covers. now you wont loose them
    #15handle.jpg

this is what your left with.

ok getting back to the map light housing. from here you should be able to just give it a tug and come right out.
    #17map light.jpg

now you need to take out the long module
    #18map light.jpg
    like this
    #19map light.jpg

and disconect the other one. there is a tab you need to push to disconect
    #20map light.jpg

now these are the rear handle bars.
    #21rear handle.jpg

same process as before. remember to save those screws!

we are now moving to the rear quarter panel. use your flathead to open the cover and remove the screw.
    #23quarter panel.jpg

    now another grab and pull
    #24quarter panel.jpg

now lay it on the rear deck
    #25rear quarter panel.jpg

these are plasic pop rivets. just pull them straight out.
    #26rear pushpin.jpg

this is the front seat belt cover. you want to pull out the top black section with the tan section attached.
    #28seatbelt panel.jpg

now you need to separate the tan from the balck. on the inside lips there are tabs.
    #29seatbelt panel.jpg

now while keeping the bottom half of the black section attached to the car. let the tan section dop down and remove from the top liner. now move it to the side.

WoW - Great how too!! I don't plan to take the whole headliner, but I may have to with an upcoming job. This is just what I needed!

Thanks for posting this thread. Some of the links don't work on the next to the last post - no pics display and the forum message says something about invalid links.
