I had no problems getting 38 mpg on a 20 mile slightly uphill trip and 46 mpg on the way back tonight per my calibrated ScanGauge II. Speeds were 55-60 mph, clear roads, snow tires on, 21-22*F with a few sharp turns and small towns on the route. I was driving gently and watching the DIC's instant FE display like a hawk. I used the minimum throttle position necessary to maintain speed. When accelerating, I held lower gears longer with more throttle to reduce pumping losses, and not to kick in the turbo much.

So after installing my K&N intake i was able to achieve 35mpg this last fill up and it was mostly city driving! Im gonna do a couple more fill ups to make sure it is consistent but as stated before i was previously getting around 30-31mpg on a daily basis. Before i could not get into 6th until 40mph but now am able to get into 6th at 36-37mpg. I believe this has helped out my city mpgs tremendously and now cannot wait till warmer weather to see what i will be getting.

If you haven't yet, don't forget to check out the "how to get better fuel economy" thread I created in this section.

Bigger intakes aren't as effective on forced inductions motors vs naturally aspirated ones. Do you feel like the K&N added significant mileage?
