    Radiator fan = crazy!

I've noticed this a few times in the last few weeks. On dead cold start (over night) everything is fine. I'll drive the kids to school and then come home. The car sits from 9:00am until 2:30pm. When I get in the car and turn it on, the temp gauge shows no reading (cold). The rad fan will then turn on full blast and stay that way. I drove 15 miles and the fan didn't turn off. The car warmed up no problem. I turned the car off and then restarted it and the issue went away.

    Whats the deal?

On my last car the whenever the AC was on the fan would run. On the cruze the AC runs on defrost so that could explain the fan running if it runs with the AC. That does not explain the difference between engine cold/hot.

I don't have defrost on, nor the A/C. No interior fans are on. I'm not asking for any heat. The temp outside is like 60-80.

    Bad thermostat (stuck open).

The car screams the fan because the two temp sensors aren't agreeing, so it sends the car into a "fail-safe" mode.

    Coolant tank full?

I know there is a recent program up date for 2012 cars which will run the fan after the car is shut off. This is to cool the turbo.the fan can run up to a few mins or more with the car off.But this would be most active in hot weather. And as i say its a update in programing

My fan is running full blast as soon as the car is on (and cold). Since it just happened recently, I think it's a sensor problem as stated above.
