2011 Cruze LS 1.8L 6MT - Loan Take Over or Buy out

So I have a 2011 Chevrolet Cruze LS 1.8L with 6-Speed Manual Transmission with approximately 37,750 miles on the odometer. I still owe approximately $16,100.00 (48 Month loan ~ 36 Months left) on the loan thru Ally Fiancial with a $410.00 monthly payment, and would like to have someone either take the loan over or buy it outright from me. I know that price is pretty much the same for a new Cruze LS but I am pretty much tired of the car and since I no longer have the same income and my credit has gone to s**t I am trying to get rid of what I can.

    Problems:
    - Transmission was a little notchy, GM recomended replacement. Quality Chevrolet replaced 6-speed manual transmission with new one on August 2012.
    - Traction Control System randomly faults out on vehicle start-up, dealership has replaced ECU, BCM, VSS, plus many other sensors.
    - Ever since issues have started, gas mileage has kept decreasing. MPG started at 33-35mpg's now it will not go higher then 27.5mpg's.
    - No other known problems.

    Car comes with;
    - Custom Magnaflow cat-back exhaust (Installed)
    - LT 16" Alloy Wheels & Tires (Installed)
    - LS 16" Steels Wheels w/Hubcaps (No tires/Not Installed)
    - Injen Cold Air Intake (Not Installed)
    - K&N Drop-In intake panel filter (Not Installed)
    - OEM intake panel filter (Installed)
    - OEM GM Fog Lights (Installed @ Quality Chevrolet)
    - Inno Roof Rack (Not Installed)
    - SRiV Rear Badge (Installed)

That sucks man. If your credit is already crap, why not just give it back to the bank? That way you're out of it!

Because I woudl still owe roughly 4-6k on the car after they sold it, assuming that they got asking price for the car!

But see thats the thing, its not like I cant pay for it, I am just tired of the car and would like to get rid of it either outright or replace it with a different car. But since the dealers and banks want at the very minimum the negative equity paid off I can trade it in. So that is why its posted up here. Like I said I am beyond positive its a long shot would spend the price of a new Cruze for a used Cruze but it does hurt to try. And if not, its already washed and parked until I can get rid of it, as I am not driving it anymore!

Something does not add up here, you say you have made 14 months worth of payments but still owe window sticker for the car? that must be one **** of a bad interest rate!

Looks like trade in value is $10,000-10,800, best bet is to try & pay your car down closer to that value so you can trade without a loss. Private sale the car is only worth $11,000-12,000 so you are asking way to much.

You have to understand how all car values work, the first couple years you will take a huge hit trading or selling a car unless you put allot down on the car to begin with. Wait another 6 months to a year I bet you will see the cars value doesn't decrease as much as you are getting closer to the current value.

I have learned all this the hard way and now I am paying for it. What sucks is this car was supposed to be one of Chevrolet's top cars that they would bend over backwards to make sure it was right, yet how many multiple visits to the service center just to have another part replaced...I am extremely tired of it, and I cant "Lemon Law" it because none of the RO's state the excat same problem, or so that is what the lawyer told me! So I am stuck paying on a car that has its share of problems and getting worse gas mileage then that of my parents 1997 C5 Corvette! Dont knwo about you but something isnt adding up. When I got the car it was 18,500 sticker price I believe, so after all was said and done i think it was around 20k or so. I didnt think the price of an LS was going to drop so much over the next 12-months. But anyways back to topic, I know I am not going to get rid of it this way, but as everyone says, it never hurts to ask/try! But that is my current plan, to pay it down as low as i can so that I can just at the very minimum break even. Hence the reason it is forever parked and will get driven just enough to keep the tires and engine good!

Ok so after a long debate and both dealerships doing many repairs to my car, I think I'm just going to keep the Cruze. As long as it does not fall apart on me I'm going to keep it and probably do some light to moderate upgrades to at least make it more enjoyable to have...so I'm ending the topic at least on selling the car.
