Installed some H13 Silver Star Ultra's. Very Pleased with results. Will I have to replace very often, time will tell.
I don't see any problems with my 2012 Cruze, pulled out the left side headlamp socket with my left hand just to look at the bulb. Strange to me, my first car was a 1930 Olds with bulbs, then sealed beams, and now back to bulbs again.
Was concerned about this with my then new 04 Cavalier, not even sure how that car received DOT approval the headlamps were so dim, that I had to do something with, and now. Cruze is plenty bright when driving on dark tree lined Wisconsin curvy roads at night. Now the Buick LaCrosse, that is problems, if you have a dealer change a head lamp bulb, 300 bucks, have to remove the entire front end of that vehicle to change a bulb.
Really love those rectangular four head lamps on my motorhome, installed low and high beams for all four, if the outside low beam goes out, can just switch it in a couple of minutes with a phillips screwdriver. And with halogens, that really lights up the road with all four on. Really feel they are going backwards, if a lens gets hit by a stone, five bucks to replace the complete headlamp. With this plastic, an arm and leg to buy a new lens. And only two bulbs for brights.
I always carry spare bulbs and fuses in the vehicle, haven't done that yet with the Cruze, yet. Only got as far as they are different than anything I have laying around here. HID's sound interesting, have to look those up.
So for all the people actually replacing their bulbs, which lights would you recommend best for this scenario? Which ones giving the best output?
Ive tried Silverstars and Piaas only to have to replace them a year or so later. I ran across the Philips CrystalVision Ultras. Ive replaced the bulbs in every car we own with these because they are that good. They throw a much whiter light with a hint of blue. They arent higher wattage but seem to produce more light because its a whiter light thats higher on the kelvin scale.
I just replaced the bulbs on our LTZ and really like them. Ill see if I can get some pics when I get the car back from the tinter later today.
Wow I dont know why anyone is removing anything? I replaced my bulbs in 5 minutes without removing anything..I got my bulbs for $39 from blinglights.com. The had good reviews. I like them, got a whitish blueish hue to them. Cant say visibility went up a ton but I think it did a little. I just hated the yellow lights...
