Hey all. Y'all may know I'm not new here, but after having gone back and fourth many times with my dad about buying a Cruze or him giving me the Camaro, he has finally made up his mind. He bought me a Cruze today!!! Obviously it's used, but only slightly. 2012 1LT Auto with the RS package with 16,000 miles on it! An old lady used to own it. She wanted the new malibu because of size so that's why she traded the Cruze. I LOVE it. It's awesome. I've been lurking around here, posted some times and what not, but if there's anything y'all think I should know, let me know! I can't wait to become more active in this great community. I'll probably be looking in to a tune here soon. It's not slow to me as stock, but I can't keep it stock for long! I wanna dip the bow ties too, just gotta figure out what color. Might try to get the 2LT 17's as well. I don't know. Money money money. That's what it all boils down to, right?! Haha! By the way, I'm 16 for those who don't know. And yes, a 16 year old male can love this car...and look good in it at the same time, if I do say so myself. lol!
Anyways, here are two pictures. I have to get more soon. I've been busy ever since leaving the dealer driving it! Haha.
Lol. Thank you! Yeah I think my dad is banking on me getting in to less trouble with the Cruze than I would with the Camaro...he's probably right. Hahaha.
Welcome to the forums! I'm also a fan it the 2LT wheels over the 1LT. If I didn't have the light ECO wheels, I would have shot for LTZ wheels. Not going to say you can't drive but the Camaro is blind spot city unless you only drive in a straight line. You will be safer driving and parking a Cruze.
Lol. Yeah I understand haha. I had gotten used to driving the Camaro with it's limited visibility since It had been mine for 4 months but it's nice to be able to see anything but directly in front of me again lol. And 4 doors. Having 4 doors is very nice haha.
So I haven't taken any more pics of the car (gotta wash it tomorrow lol) but I've been playing the fuel economy game a bit (fun game. A lot less stressful than the game of trying to figure out why people won't get the heck out of my way in the Camaro. Haha). And my route to and from work (mostly highway with a few red lights) got me some numbers that I'm quite proud of
That was as soon as I got home. I took the pic while I was letting the turbo cool a bit before turning it off haha. And I definitely could drive more conservatively, I just love this little turbo 4 too much .

Welcome and congrats on your new to you Cruze! I love mine so far! I didn`t have my bow ties dipped, I simply used black vinyl to cover them and it turned out really good and looks amazing! It may be a cheaper alternative? I am also interest in getting 17 inch wheels as you said, but also as you pointed out, money is definitely an issue! I would love to get 17s though and paint them black.
Also, I did the Trifecta budget tune and love it! The power is amazing, and the nice thing is, you can turn "off" the tune when you want to cruze economically with the cruze control on/off switch, very nifty! Do you have a manual or an auto trans?
Yeah. That darn money lol. I am pretty sure I am going to end up dipping them because i already have 2 cans of red plasti-dip (from the camaro) so it would actually be the most cost effective. I ended up getting an auto. There wasn't a used 1.4T 6M within 75 miles with me. I looked, trust me. Lol. The auto isnt that bad to me. I've been playing with the manumatic a lot recently too. Yeah the first thing i want to do is the tune. Everyone says it makes night and day difference, which would be awesome, because I already feel like its pretty peppy stock. The only place it seemed to struggle a bit was passing at 75mph...gotta save up some money for that tune though. My dad had me put $2000 down on my Cruze, so now i have to work my savings back up haha.
Sorry! I knew i should have put it in the text. Lol. It was 51.6 miles on the trip meter and 40.3 mpg with an average speed of 50.9 mph. Thats pretty good for a 1LT A/T, right? I used A/C the whole way there and about 1 fourth of the way back.
