    Maryland "Assault Weapon Ban" Woops!

    From the 2/24/13 Washington Post - http://www.washingtonpost.com/local/...adb_story.html

So if this law passes most of the products made by Beretta USA will be illegal in the state where they are produced. Good job Martin!

    Quote:
“Why expand in a place where the people who built the gun couldn’t buy it?” said Jeffrey Reh, general counsel for Beretta.

    Quote:
O’Malley aides say the bill could have outright banned manufacturing of assault weapons in the state but did not in part because of Beretta, which has agreed to meet with the administration on Monday to discuss the bill.

    Quote:
The company’s Italian patriarch, Ugo Gussalli Beretta, visited the plant shortly after O’Malley introduced his gun-control bill, and the two discussed the issue. But Reh declined to say if the two reached any decisions about what would happen if the governor’s bill passes.

“All I can tell you is, Mr. Beretta said, ‘There always seems to be a problem with Maryland.’ ”

There would also be complications with warranty repairs and shipping caused by this brilliant new law.

The geniuses in Annapolis are willing to make an exception for Beretta, which really highlights that these proposed laws are mostly feel good BS. But what about the children!

This makes me so proud to be a subject, er citizen of The People's Republic of Maryland.

Liberals have really taken it to the next level, and I think they've bit off more than they can chew. Chicago is getting a lot of resistance for their concealed carry legislation, and the Chicago corrupt democrats are trying to combine a may-issue concealed carry bill with a defense weapons ban and ram that through this week. It's pathetic.

What's an assault weapon? Lol. My favorite are the people who think "AR" in "AR15" stands for Assault Rifle.

It doesn't??? Under some of these so-called feel good bans, water guns will be banned just because of the way they look. I'm hoping Beretta decides to move to Texas or some other location that doesn't have a problem with weapons. Maryland's exemption for them really shows what the gun banners really want - feel good sound bites for reelection.

It is not the ignorance that has a lasting impact , as much as the fear.
take a terrified victim and you have a poster child to parade in front of the masses to exploit at no end. Be cool stay cozy,

We also have Magpul in Colorado, where they just passed a full-cap mag ban which will put Magpul out of business and their 450 employees out of work. See also Springfield Armory (in Geneseo, IL). Why in the name of sanity do gun makers base themselves in notoriously hostile locations?

I really want to see Magpul, S&W, Remington, Baretta, and some of the smaller companies tell their respective gun-grabbing states to get F'd.

Guns are weapons of mass killing, but you want the blood money? No.

They should all move to free states and let the gun-grabbers suffer the consequences. I know Magpul alone would cost Colorado 1000 jobs and $100M+ when you include the subcontractors and supporting industries they also employ/patronize.

If i were a governor in a free state i would offer a tax exempt period for companies willing to make the move, to secure revenue in the future and bolster my local economy.

Imagine if they all moved to Wyoming. The state's economy (and population) would double within a year.

Colorado used to be a gun friendly state until Columbine.
