2013 MB Smart car worse EPA mileage than my 2012 2LT Cruze

1 mpg less, but certainly not the luxury, room, options, and convenience. And since I can't use my GM card earnings to purchase one, even more expensive to purchase.

2LT is doing 3-4 mpg better than the EPA ratings, and can even carry three passengers in the back seat.

So what is so smart about the Smart car?

Absolutely nothing unless you live in a crowded European city where parking sideways becomes a necessity.

They are relatively cheap. I think the base is like 14k.

I see these things all the time in DC. I just want to knock them over. With the short wheelbase, they've got to be a little top-heavy.

Wasn't successful in posting a photo of the Smart car. According to their site, nearest dealer is in Madison, WI, but seeing a couple around here. Fully equipped, with sales tax, over $18K. Electric version is over $25K.

Certainly an interest in the board about economy vehicles is why I posted it. This is their website.

I had a coworker that used to be a salesman that tried to claim they are designed with a NASCAR roll cage in them that makes them safe. Roll cage or not what happens in a big wind storm or you piss off some large muscular brutes that pick up the car or decide to start bench pressing your car? There is something to be said about size. There a few of them rolling around Cincinnati. Never see them actually driving, just parked in the smallest of places(taking up 2 spots) when I am trying to park my Cruze.
