I am starting to dislike my A/C Heater control knobs.. my knee keeps touching it changing the temp while i drive. My passanger today is 6'11 and his knee kept turning the fan speed up.. Smacks head
That's funny as I'm only 5'10" and my right knee rests on the heat control knob constantly. I also am not crazy about the vent positions as they don't seem to have enough movement to them. Can hardly feel the air in my face unless I have the fan on at least 3.
6' 11?
Well geeeeez, any car would have issues keeping someone that tall comfortable.
Remember people, this is a compact car(mid-size if your EPA). It is not for very tall people...
But im only 6'1 lol my knee keeps hitting and changing the temp lol
I know its a mid-size, our "toys" are smaller, belive it or not, he's 6'11 and drives a Delsol lol. My other car is a WRX smaller feel then the cruze but I dont have this problem in the other cars.
If only the centered the contole knobs a lil more it'ed be perfect. Its just 1/2" to far to the edge
Ok...ok...ok. I get it. Very tall people are having issues with a compact, and as consumers u have every right to do so. ****, why should it cost more for being a taller person, which u have no control over, for having to buy bigger cars? How my father did it all his life I have no idea...
I officially state at this moment that I am waiting for Shaquille O'Neal to complain about his Cruze if he gets one. Then you will see the evil side of me
Man I thought I was the only one. My leg constantly turns the ac from cool to warm every once in awhile when I'm driving. Really annoying...Prob happens at least once every time I drive somewhere.
I'm 6', and I don't lay down while driving, my knee hits that button which is rather annoying. I know it's a compact car, the only reason I considered it at all is the large amount of front seat space, I could never sit comfortably in a Cobalt and I feel like there is more front seat space in the Cruze than there is in the Malibu. The HVAC controls should really be redesigned.
I'm also 6ft, but NEVER drive with my feet away from the pedals. even with the cruise set putting your feet away from pedals increases your reaction time.
with the seat all the way back & can't even touch the pedals(rear seat also looses entire footwell). with the seat further back your knee should never come any where near the knob.
I complained about this very problem in my 5 pg letter to Chevy/GM! On my "wish list" it consisted of them changing the design/placement of these knobs because they are inconveniently placed for both the driver and passenger's knee, as well as the driver having to inconveniently reach all the way over and around the automatic gear shifter (especially when its in park) to be able to reach the knob on the right side. I also noted that when you have a passenger especially if they are tall, that if the passenger is resting their knee on the right side knob because of bad design, that when you as the driver have to pretty much reach into their personal space, possibly hit their knee and/or have to ask them to move their knee so you can change the fan speed, it can cause a very awkward situation! lol
Cruze is the only car ever that I found where the front seats can be moved so far back, the backs of the front seats just about touch the front of the rear seats. Heaven help any passengers back there if the front riders try that.
I am 6' 2" tall, with the seats all the way back, can't even reach the pedals. Feel good driving posture is necessary to stay awake and be alert. Only takes 1/10th of a second to get into deep trouble.
As far as I'm concerned, that part of the center consol is too wide. It could be a couple inches narrower, which would make more room for the knees. Oh, I'm 6'1" tall as well, but I never knee my knob.
I'm not tall, I'm 5'6 and I have been experiencing this issue since the first day I stepped inside my cruze. if only there was a way to replace the knobs on both sides to flat knobs that you roll over with a finger instead as a knob.. that way they don't stick out.
Yes, this happens to me too and I am 5'10". There are really too many dials and buttons on the dash and console anyway, many could really be consolidated. I suppose Chevy thought that people feel its more valuable if a pile of gizmos awaits people entering the car.
