    car running rough

    I installed an injen short ram intake and a dual exhaust on my 2011 chevy cruze 2lt rs, several months ago... The check engine light comes on and goes off occasionally since installing the short ram intake. I tried disconnecting the battery to reset the system and it works for awhile but the check engine light will eventually come back on again. I've noticed it comes on alot after i fueled up or if i get "into it" alot. When the check engine light comes on the MPG drops down and if i open it up it was lag and backfire like crazy at high RPMS like it cant shift. anybody have any ideas of what to do or how to fix it?

    Where does the exhaust start? Cat back? Turbo back?

    Either the intake or exhaust is fooling your MAF/O2 sensors with unexpected values.

    I did a cat back exhaust the shop made it them selves it wasn't a pre-fab one. I got the check engine light read and thats what it said that the MAF sensor wasnt able to properly read the amount of air coming in. Is there anyway to fix this or reset the computer to read it properly besides unhooking the battery all the time?

    pull the MAF out and clean it. It's possible some of the oil from the filter got on to the MAF and it's making it act funny. This is why you gotta be careful when cleaning the filters to not over oil them or you can have problems like this. The lag/backfire/noshift condition you mentioned sounds almost like limp mode.

    I tried disconnecting the battery and taking the MAF out cleaning it and putting it back together. car ran good for a few weeks now this is happening.... How do i fix it and get it out of limp mode?

    Put the stock intake back and see if it'll run right.

    Then troubleshoot from there. It's getting a bad air reading from your intake, either a loose clamp or just doesn't like the change in diameter.
