    Unhappy Error Codes and CEL

Vehicle currently has 97k miles on it.
Just had the CEL turn on last night driving home from a friend's house. Took the car to AutoZone today and had them do a scan. The health report showed the following codes.

P0171 System Too Lean (Bank 1)
P1101 Intake Air Flow System Performance
P0171 System Too Lean (Bank 1)
P0171 System Too Lean (Bank 1)
P1101 Intake Air Flow System Performance

Took it to the jiffy lube up the street and got a similar report. That's when I noticed a whistling noise coming from the engine bay. The autozone report mentions that it could be a Fuel Injector Issue. After doing some research It seems like it could be something to do with a PCV valve or the valve cover which I've noticed is a common problem for Cruze owners. I would like to get it fixed but don't want to just put a bandaid on something that is going to fail again. Any advice for the inexperienced?

Remove spark plug cover to see check valve (pcv) disc cover that is part of the cam cover.
Start engine....there is a small hole in the side of the disc.....put your finger tip over it. If it failed, the noise will stop and the engine idle will even out.
This would indicate a cam cover assembly will be required.
Often, the check valve in the intake manifold has failed....there are photos of what you should see when inspecting on this site somewhere.
If the valve is gone, a intake manifold will be required to preserve the lifespan of the disc in the cam cover.
