I have had the plugs on my car come loose after I torqued them to 18 ft lb so I go to 21 ft lbs now and check them every time I change the oil. Mine made a chirping sound at take off i thought one of my engine mounts was squeaking. I had a **** of a time figuring that out.

There are a lot of products for stripped spark plug threads....and in the other loose spark plug threads on the forum it's accepted that they'll continue to come loose until they're replaced and installed correctly.

I'm too paranoid as it is, last time I took it my cruze in for a trans fluid flush at a dealership they had me sit around for 4 hours when I scheduled the service, then told me some nonsense about needing 11 quarts of fluid that they didn't have, but they had enough for a drain and fill, which I instantly realized was a made up # and not the spec for transmission...then a week later the PCV valve goes and the valve cover too... and now the loose plugs come to light. It's a good thing i'm way out of warranty, because i'm done being at the mercy of any shop that doesn't let me have line of sight while they do any work.

They weren't striped. they just worked themselves loose.

I meant that to me it seems like a safer option to get 4 new spark plugs with uncompressed rings, and install them to spec, than place the unnecessary torque on those aluminum threads.

They were brand new when they came loose. You're only talking and additional 3 ft lbs which is still within the spec of 18-21.6 ft lbs.
