Installing an off brand illuminated glowtie

So I have a bowtie shaped light that just gets power from a simple circuit. Basically you take off the bowtie, put on the glowtie, split the difference on all sides since its a little larger, then glue the orginal bowtie on top of the glowtie plastic piece. So next question. The glowtie is just a simple circuit with a red and black cable. Put then to east side of a household battery and it turns on. My question is what should I make the circuit out of in the engine? I was thinking of putting going to the fuse box, unplugging the headlights, then just setting that red cable under there and then putting the black cable to some sort of ground. Because i ultimately want the glowtie to light up at night time. Is there any easy was to just make a circuit in the engine? Thanks!

Assuming you have an automatic, there is a plug in the firewall you can remove, drill, grommet and run the wires to your dimming circuit if you want more control, else like yt400pmd says....
