Check your vehicle settings. It sounds to me like you have an audible notification set for the door locks.

I've never heard of this behaviour. Is this a 2016 Cruze or Cruze Limited?
    Is this an American car?
Do you have aftermarket alarm or keyless entry?

This might be the 'remote left in vehicle' honk (3 chirps).

If so, yes. It's in the vehicle settings on the radio, and it is VERY annoying.

I thought same when I read title, but OP specifically says it honks once....

This is 2016 Cruse not a Limited, american car (well I would hope so- but that is another topic)

While sitting in car and shut off engine the horn honks 1 time only, every time.
I have been reading manual and talks a lot about alarm system, but not finding specific to this issue.
Just kind of annoying every time.

    Thanks Again..

It bugs me when I get in the 2016, shut the door and BEEPBEEPBEEP.
Yes, the remote's in the car, I just got in with it in my pocket.

More disconcerting is the 'no remote in car, press the start button to restart now' message when you park the car that makes you wonder if you're going to be able to drive home later.

You too?! The remote's in my pocket, stupid car.

I've never had it not start or fail to recognize the remote that is a part of the TSB for replacing the receiver, though.
