Thanks Aussie. I've put in a request to join. Cheers.

Not sure if anyone in Aus still checks in here, but has anyone ever done the manual oil transmission swap that the US guys recommend to help out with gears grinding when changing quickly, but on our 1.6T drive-train? I can't remember if we share the same manual transmission (my memory tells me...
  3. Cruze 2011 engine issue

According to Google search results they can partially fail. Have you rung a few mechanics and asked them the same set of questions? Don't tell them what you believe to be the cause of the problem - only the symptoms - and see if several professionals come to the same conclusion.

Not sure mate. They don't sell it here so I don't know anything about it. Hopefully someone else can help you out. :)

0-100km/h is all about wheel torque-to-weight ratio (and of course traction). Power becomes relevant when the forces of drag due to rolling and wind resistance start to become significant (well over 100km/h). Given that the two cars weigh roughly the same that means your 2015 SRI-V is winning...
  6. Tuning the Holden Cruze SRI 1.6Ltr Turbo Auto

Once mines warm it sits between about 101 and 106 whether its the middle of winter or idling at the lights on a 40+ degree day after a thrashing. Its no surprise when you look at the size of the radiator!

Yea weight ranges from 1.45 tonnes (manual SRi sedan without a spare) to 1.50 tonnes (auto SRi-V hatch without a spare). Quite the porky car indeed! Rivals with a new-gen chassis' weigh 100-150kg less.

The car should not benefit from 98 over 95 in terms of performance, as the factory tune is unable to adjust the timing and boost pressure to take advantage of the higher octane fuel. When comparing 95 to 91 then yes there would absolutely be a increase in performance (and responsiveness)...

My Cruze just completed 1,469km on two tanks of fuel with 9.2L remaining (combined). Not bad! The first leg was 731km with two people + luggage travelling mostly at 110km/h on course chip with the occasional hill, town and road-train or caravan to overtake. The warning light came on as I pulled...

I got this fitted by the dealership when new. They took it off the accessories list a few months after the 1.6T came out. It looks great on the car. Only negative is the aero effect means that when you're driving in wet spray or dusty conditions the top half of the rear windscreen gets...

Wow, what a steal. If I didn't love jumping curbs at intersections when traffic is banked up past the turning lane or occasionally doing some pothole and corrugated covered unsealed roads during road trips I'd grab a set.

As above, the stud pattern is larger in order to accommodate larger brake disks. The 2.0T diesel has always had larger disks due to the extra weight relative to the 1.8/1.4T (~135kg), so they used those in the 1.6T for a mild improvement to braking performance and to deal with the slightly...

That isn't a full-length exhaust. It leaves the main rear muffler with the restrictive internal S-bend piping intact. I doubt the long and thin straight-through muffler and resonator that it replaces would have really impeded flow that much. The stock system already uses 2.5" SS piping as well...

Always bugs me how tuners do a single cold run stock, then 3+ hot runs when tuned, picking the best of the tuned to compare to the stock. Man I love seeing welded stainless pipes! I wonder if it's really worth getting the exhaust though? The car already comes with a 2.5" stainless system...

It must be getting close to 200kW at the fly. Are you considering doing the intake, plumbing, intercooler and exhaust? Maybe even the turbo, fuel pump, springs etc.? You'd think that increasing output by almost 50% would well and truly be straining the above, in the same way that it is straining...
