So went to go change my trans fluid and my transmission drain plug is rounded off. I can't seem to find a replacement anywhere. Any time I do a search it just brings up engine oil drain plugs. Any idea where I can find one? Thanks!

Is it necessary to drain the coolant before replacing the thermostat housing? Will it dump a lot of coolant if I don't? Have a 2015 with the 1.4l turbo and a check engine code for P0599 "Thermostat Heater Control Circuit High". No other symptoms or leaks evident. Thanks for your help.

My 2012 Cruze is coming up on 100k and I’m thinking of changing the ATF. I got the vehicle at 25k and haven’t done it yet. I’ve read quite a bit on here so I’m confident it’s something I can do myself. I see a lot of people like the Amsoil signature series. What are your thoughts on the...

Hey, folks. Im in the process of replacing my turbocharger on my 2013 eco cruze and I went to drain the oil and the oil drain plug is stripped. I got bolt gripping sockets but it's stuck on there so bad they just started cutting into the plugs head. Currently about to try a bolt extractor kit...

I had an interesting oil change experience at the dealership today. Paraphrased, the conversation was like this: ME: "While you have it up on the lift, could you drain the water out of the fuel filter? It's a diesel." Service Writer: "If you want the fuel system drained we have to send it back...

I think I mentioned this before, was the oil drain plug changed on the 2014 LT? The drain plug on my 2014 is 10mm. I don't remember seeing it that small on my LS or Eco(those were 14/15 mm) and my 2013 RS has a 5/8. was the plug on my 2013 changed and 10 mm is the norm for 2013 and later? Just...

For those who change their own oil , i recommend that you replace that crappy 10 mm soft plug, before it gets rounded off. For 6 bucks you can buy a replacement with a 5/8 " head. A lot better than having to drop the pan.

While going to do an oil change today I noticed that my oil drain plug was 17mm instead of the 10mm that's found in the 'How to:' here on Cruzetalk. I'm the second owner of this car. I thought I would post here first and ask if there is something I should look or if I'm even about to pull the...
  10. Gen2 Service Issues
Hi, I will be changing my oil soon and since it is the first change, I want to do it from the bottom side. Does anyone know the oil drain plug tightening torque specifications for the 1.6L? And the specs for the oil filter cap? Thanks ahead of time!

Hi, I've got a 2010 Holden Cruze JG CD (so the passenger side is on the left and everything else is backwards). The passenger side-floor is pretty wet so I think it's related to the air-con not draining properly. I checked the rubber drain under the hood, but it was clear and dry. I found...

In case anyone is wondering. 22 amps is the initial drain down. Once everything is off and settled down. .3 amps is the drain. Add .05 amps for leaving obd2 plugged in.

I bought a 2014 Cruze (1.4L Turbo) about 6 weeks ago. I mainly drive my pick-up but I live in a remote area and the Cruze was purchased as a second car. Under normal conditions, it will be driven only about 40 miles one day per week. The car I traded on the Cruze (2002 Ford Escort) failed to...

This is the first time I've attempted an oil change in any car, got all excited about it and bought the required tools. I've been going thorugh some tutorials here in the forum and I see most people have the 10mm drain bolt, but mine comes with the torx oil drain bolt. I tried removing the...

I am having problems with the Radio in a 2013 Cruze. It is the version with the Touch screen and MyLink. The battery was stone dead on the car and needed to be charged. After charging, I could not let the car sit over night without having a dead battery the next day. I put a new battery in the...

Hey everyone, so I was out in Montana this summer and needed an oil change. I usually do it myself but was 2000 miles from home so had the GM dealer in Bozeman do it for me. Now that I'm back home I went to change the oil before a long road trip for Thanksgiving and find out the technician WAY...
