So I found a gas station that has some of this plus some 110 racing octane... lol.... I am wondering if my mpg will get better in my 2014 2lt cruze.... I have run nothing but 87 octane in it since I've bought it and usually get around 30 mph average per tank... Now the big difference...

Is this all that's needed for ethanol blends for the pcm to comp the extra fuel with stock injectors? I know they limit out pretty quickly. I have a station by the house that sells E30 and would like to tune for it. Eventually I plan to go with bigger injectors for e85 but I want to try this for...

What ethanol percentage can I get away with on a stock tune? Wondering if it could handle 30% as there is a station by the house that sells that blend in addition to e85

Here in my city Kwik Trip is now offering 88 octane 15% ethanol for its mid grade. If you had to choose between that and 87 octane 10% ethanol, which would you choose and why? That is today's riddle for you. Joe
  5. Gen1 Diesel General Discussion
The new diesel pump at the Speedway station says "may contain 10% ethanol". I'm thinking this must be a mistake.

I currently run 89 octane in the summer and find it sufficient. (87 in the winters.) I am thinking of running 91 octane ethanol free. I know 91 will help a little in the heat. But does the fact that it has no ethanol help, and if so, in what ways? thanks, Joe

Found this online when researching to convert my 02 Silverado over to E85. It is a little dated since it was published in 2011 but explains a good bit in detail. http://www.liquidsunenergy.com/learning/ppt/ice.pdf

Least in my neck of the woods, was 15 cents more per gallon, now 50 cents more per gallon. Kicked this around yesterday at the pumps, but just paid five bucks more for ten gallons to fill the tank. I just could not put this ethanol crap in my Cruze. But sure thinking about it.
  9. Gen1 Diesel General Discussion
My state has recently expanded ethanol tax breaks to also cover biodiesel. The tax incentives include a 25% break for fuel retailers who invest in infrastructure for production and distribution of biofuels. My local Walmart has already taken advantage by switching to B20 only. I didn't notice...

I remember talk about where to find pure gas. I was driving home from Fla and in north Ga. I saw signs for 100% gas no ethanol on I 75. I did not need gas at the time and Ga is a little far to go to fill up, I surely would have loved to try it tho. Only problem, I probably would have been...

are killing the bee population required to pollinate other plants for food production? Estimated that over 30% of the bee population has been killed with even more on the way. Long time record of both the EPA and DNR try to correct one problem and create then more. What are these idiots doing...

Does any one know which, if any gas companies sell ethanol free gas? I tried googling and haven't come up with anything recent. As of 2010 Shell 91 was one of the only ethanol free gases, but cannot find anything claiming that is still accurate. There is nothing on their website about it.

Under the impression that our Cruzes were supposed to be okay with 87 octane, which they are. However, I was skimming through my vehicle build via GM Global Warranty Management, and came across these two RPO codes. I thought they were interesting. I know E10 is a gas were all familiar with, but...

I just took my longest trip with my new Chevy Cruze LTZ Turbo. Before I went to Non-Ethanol fuel, I could only squeeze 34 mpg out of this car and that included all miles and idling at stoplights and the whole nine yards. The trip was from my house in Mount Olive, NC to a friend's house (12 miles...

Several sources claim the same thing, growing crops to make Alcohol for auto fuel is not cost effective.[FSTV, LinkTV] 1. The "total" requirements to make 1-BTU of Ethanol takes 4-BTU's of [usually]crude based fuel. 2. To make 1-BTU of Bio-Diesel takes 1/4-BTU of[usually]crude based fuels...

Yeah so I had searched the pure gas website and realized that a station near my permanent residence in NY (I'd been staying out of town for school) has 0% Ethanol. It's dubbed "Super Premium" and labeled 91 Octane "No Ethanol!" Decided to try some of it... WOW. Car took off like a nuke and its...

Here is the link to the Ethanol free gas stations. Some have multigrade, others only have low grade. Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada
  18. ⛽ Fuel Economy
So I'm sure most of us here on this forum know that its hard to find a gas station that sells 100% gasoline now a days, and after doing a little homework, I have come to the conclusion that the 10% ethanol added into our fuels slightly reduces mpg, not to mention a few other things about E10...

A gas station I frequent gives me a choice...for the same price, I can buy 90 octane pure gas or 93 octane with 10% ethanol. Which would you use and why?
