  1. Gen2 Diesel General Discussion
As per my post in the MPG thread. I recently did an 860 mile tank and the DIC said I still had 52 miles to empty. It said 52 to empty for about 60 miles. When I filled up I got 14.5 gallons in it. Has anyone put more? I really want to know how much it can take.
  2. Gen2 Diesel General Discussion
So, I waited until about 30% remaining until I filled my diesel emissions fluid tank for the first time hoping that two and a half gallons would fit and I wouldn't have to use too much of another container to top up if any at all. After all, two and a half gallons out of a 3.8 gallon tank is...

In other words....do you fill up @ 1/2? 1/4? Below E? Fuelly really helps look at that...i average a little over 14 gallons per fill, usually the DIC has read "low" for a few miles. Don't think there's anything wrong with that, as long as i dont push it too much and run it dry.
  4. Gen1 Diesel General Discussion
I filled it up this morning with 15.069 Gallons till all the bubbles were out at $3.35 p/g. The tank holds 15.6 gallons and the info gauge said I had 100 miles to go. What's the most you've put in? Diesel.
  5. Gen1 Diesel Fuel Economy
I just filled up yesterday. I had at least 2 gallons in the tank still. You just have to wait for the foam to keep going down. I'm sure I could have gotten more but it was cold out, lol. This pic also reminds me of a meme about OCD. Lol. And also, to note; the pump automatically shut off...

So I'd driven about 15-20 miles once my DIC went from mileage countdown to "low." I filled it prett much to the very top of the filler neck and this is what I got... The car is a 2013 Cruze LT automatic if that's relevant.

Go back to COMG- The Cruze Owner's Maintenance Guide Here's the definitive way to properly increase your tank capacity from 12.x gallons to 15.x gallons. First, get the fuel pump module from any 1.4L Cruze as long as it's NOT the ECO M6. Next step is to release pressure in your fuel lines. I...
  8. ⛽ Fuel Economy
Trying to see why my fuel mileage changes so much, and doesn't reflect the DIC. It occurred to me there is a "gallons used" reading. Since we have no accurate way to fill the tank the same each time I tried plugging the gallons used into my Fuelly, rather than gallons put in tank. Guess what...
  9. ⛽ Fuel Economy
Based on manual calculation of MPG from actual gallons added at the pump and mileage shown on the odometer, I find that the MPG and Gallons used readings from the vehicle's information center are consistently 7% to 10% in error. ie if the information center says that the Cruze is getting 30...

2012 Cruze Eco 6 MT Messed around and scored 600 miles averaging 58 mpg I will do better next week. My low fuel light came on at 598 miles and 10.3 gallons used. How many gallons are left in the tank when the low fuel light comes on ?? Im thinkin 2 7/3 & 7/5 Uploaded with ImageShack.us

The computer has a fatal flaw. When I switch from US mpg to Imp mpg the conversion is anything but correct. For example 50 Imp mpg should be 40 US mpg but the computer gives 41.6 US mpg vice 40 mpg. It's just a simple calculation because there is 32 oz in an American quart and 40 oz in an...
  12. ⛽ Fuel Economy
On my way home tonight I will go over 1000 gallons and 32,000 miles. Anybody else have more than that?
  13. ⛽ Fuel Economy
The DIC hit 100 gallons used for the first 3140 miles over the weekend just as I was pulling in to fill up. Fuelly confirms that the DIC is within .2 gallons of reality. I'm pretty impressed with the 31.4 mpg overall average given the first few months were heavily city biased and we had winter...
  14. ⛽ Fuel Economy
So I went to the gas station last night to top my gas tank off. I had just under a 1/2 tank. On my DIC it showed that I had used 5.7 gallons since my last tank full. After filling the tank up it took 6.024 gallons to fill. I have the Eco which only has the "10 gallons tank" which we know is...
