For some reason lately my regens are occurring much more frequently.
I used to avg about 750 miles between regens, now I can’t even make 500 miles. Soot Mass jumps from 3 up to 8 within 60 miles of regen.
Accumulation at highway speed seems normal but around town it’s accruing soot much...
My 2011 Chevrolet Eco 1.4T has never had a steering fluid change.
The liquid is dark brown, but still filled up to the top.
The maintenance interval doesn't say anything about a steering fluid change.
If I were to look at the color, and determine when to change it, I'd guess to...
From the maintenance log found here:
I see they recommend tire rotation every 7.5k miles.
I've only done them, when changing tires.
Is this bad?
I'm also unsure if I...
Some exciting news about AMSOIL.
AMSOIL Signature Series has some huge improvements. NOACK volatility is down across the board, the oil now touts 100% guarantee against LSPI, and most impressively, the severe service limitation has changed.
Before, it used to be that you could run 25k miles...
I have searched the forum and the internet and I can't seem to find if there is a way to adjust the setting for the oil change warning. On our 2003 Tahoe, I can scroll through many different intervals. Anyone know if that is possible on the Cruze, as I have full synthetic in it and plan to go...
The owners manual for my 2014 CTD says 10 years or 97000, the dealer service information shows 3 years or 97000.
If that's the case, looks like it's time to replace the timing belt. The water pump already appears to have a slow leak any way.
I just had my fuel filter changed at a local dealership at $150 for the filter and $100 for labor.
The filter is located under the car and under a cover.
The interval appears to be about 36K miles.
is there a better way to get this done?
Is it necessary?
Does Jiffy Lube or equivalent company do...
I'm currently sitting at 52K miles, and at 46K I changed the oil to AMSOIL with an A\C Delco filter. The oil life percentage is at 3% now. How far has anyone here gone on AMSOIL? Using their oil in my prior gas or diesel trucks, I'd routinely push 15,000 miles on one change, with nothing...
After how many miles should I start looking at changing my brake pads?
I have a 2011 Chevrolet Eco, and I always brake the car very mildly.
I also shift into higher gear, and have the engine engine-brake at between 2-3k RPM to aid the braking process.
I never go below 1750RPM or 2nd gear...
Hey guys, had the local Chevy dealership change the oil in my CTD Friday. Well, it turned out to be a pair of 17 year old 'mechanics'. Striped my oil pan bold. 'Service ASSociate' finds me in the customer area 'sir your oil pan bold is striped, it will be $20 extra if you want your oil changed'...
I know this has been asked a zillion times but I am out of warranty and doing my own oil changes now. I am not doing Amsoil so I have decided to use Mobile 1 5W30 Extended Performance Full Synthetic. I will be using a factory GM filter. How many miles should I go "safely" till my next change...
To those of you that have a way to monitor - what is your shortest regen interval? I just went through 4 800-1100 mile regens. Now, for no apparent reason I am sitting at 18 grams with 120 miles since the last regen.
I noticed that on the 2014 1.4T Cruze, the recommend change interval for the spark plugs has been lowered to 60,000 from 100,000 miles for the 2012 Cruze. Anybody have any in-sight into this? I have a 2012 with about 63,000 miles on it. Should I get my plugs changed, based on the 2014 interval?
Let me begin by saying "I know, I know..." this is a very sensative topic that can vary GREATLY by opinion. :)
Now, as far as oil change intervals go... looking for opinions please.
Owner's Manual says "Once the DIC indicates Change Engine Oil OR 7,500 miles"
A few weeks ago I picked up a 2012 CPO Cruze ECO with the manual trans. So far so good, it's pretty quiet inside, rides reasonably well and is great for my 42 mile each way commute.
I did have a couple questions.
What oil change intervals are you guys using? The oil life monitor is on...
I like to always drain and refill the auto transmission on my Elantra every 30,000 miles. What this be overkill for the 2014 Cruze? Will GM allow a dealer to do a drain and refill at 30,0000 if the customer requested the service?
What is the GM typical charge for a trans drain and refill...
