shutters

  1. General Discussion
So I had this code pop up. At first I was pissed because I've only owned the car a week. Scanned it and found out it's for the active grille shutters. There had just been freezing rain so I'm assuming they got stuck open. My question is does anyone know the parameters for those things to open...
  2. Gen1 Service Issues
Fighting with dealer and insurance company about engine codes P069E and U0284. Had no CEL on prior to accident. They replaced the shutter assembly, harness connector, but not the actuator motor. Also noticed my ags Fuse was blown under the hood. Dealer is blaming my catless dp and midpipe, but I...

The shutters on my '12 manual Eco are missing. Don't worry! I bought it totaled and am rebuilding it. Is it possible to tune them out rather than replacing them. Strangely, it sets fuel injection codes with the shutters unplugged, and it almost instantly sets a Check Engine light.
  7. Gen1 Service Issues
About to make my first service appointment for a couple issues and thought I would bounce them off the group. The car is a 2011 Eco manual, it has ~2600 miles and I am very happy so far, especially the gas mileage. I am averaging 40 mpg and just took my first road trip, 300 miles, 46 mpg...
  8. Fuel Economy
I was cruzing with my wife...haha I can't stop saying cruzing...don't think that will ever get old :D Anyways we got to talking and we were wondering at what speed the shutters close. I bet if you were to go like 1 or 2mph faster then that speed that would be the sweet spot for the best fuel...
