Hi, I’m going to try and not make a long post. But I do want to pick other people’s minds. It seems like this car a 2012 which is 6 yrs old now and has 115k miles on it is having so many problems. I want to start by saying the service theft something light has came on to service it. Really weird...

Let me start off with saying I will not be purchasing nor recommending a Cruze ever again. When I bought my Cruze back in 2014, I should've done research but I was young & dumb and only cared about how "cool" it looked and how excited I was to show off my new car to all of my friends... if I...

Is it necessary to drain the coolant before replacing the thermostat housing? Will it dump a lot of coolant if I don't? Have a 2015 with the 1.4l turbo and a check engine code for P0599 "Thermostat Heater Control Circuit High". No other symptoms or leaks evident. Thanks for your help.

2011 cruze a/c turns off due to engine temp warning, then temp guage pegs max temp instantly?
  5. Gen1 Service Issues
I have a 2011 Chevy cruze 1.8l with about 220k miles and this thing has been a massive headache. Nothing but constant issues. Now, I have replaced the Water pump, thermostat and I have flushed the radiator. Still I get no heat and the fan turns on instantly on start up if it’s cold, it will turn...

2011 Cruze 1.8 LS Just replaced the thermostat housing. Put it back together and have a coolant leak at the 90 degree elbow that plugs into the top stem. Upon examination, part of the old 90 degree elbow and the o-ring were broken off in the old housing. Having a hard time to find a diagram...
  8. Gen1 1.8L
Hey everyone, I’ve recently changed my thermostat and housing on my 1.8l Cruze but it is currently leaking from the top hose that runs from the housing to the other side of the car behind the engine, I believe it is some kind of vacuum hose? I know it is broken at the piece that plugs into...

If anyone could provide any insight that would be awesome. 2012 chevy cruze 1.4 LT with 120,000(highway miles mostly) ! Ive obviously reached the point where my car needs a little more TLC. The car is routinely taken car of! Recently noticed the digital coolant gauge reaching high temps and...

So awhile back, my check engine light came on. I checked the codes and there was three that related to my thermostat. I talked to the auto store guys and they said its pretty common to replace them because they are originally made of plastic and tend to crack. I did some research on my own and...

I can't believe this thing. It's a 2013 Chevy Cruze LS we got at about 80,550 miles and now just under 90,000 ans so far, it got a new catalytic converter, oil cooler repair, broken driver side power window - glass is good, just doesn't go up or down, new coils and now I'm replacing the...

Hi Guys, The Cruze 2013 got Error Code 89 after Automatic Transmission System repaired. I also replaced the Thermostat housing, but the error did not resolve. The repairer tore off a number of wire cars and did not tell me anything. So I guess that the Thermostat sensor's cord has been cut...
  13. Gen1 Service Issues
I have had my thermostat replaced twice in my Cruze, and it overheated today with some of the same symptoms it had before. I thought I had read of some recall for the thermostat. It seems unreasonable that I only have 55K miles and continue to have thermostat problems. Has anyone gotten a...

Hello all and thanks for having me here in this forum! Today I stuck a thermostat on the highway in my cruze just bought 3 weeks ago. Had it towed back to where I bought it from and they replaced it for free Thermostat performs as should fan kicks in and it opens around 210 degrees and cools...

I had ended up getting a p0599 code and I changed out my temperature sensor and my thermostat and the codes went away. Well my car was still overheating so I went and took it to the dealership on Friday morning and ask about the special warranty for the water pump so they went ahead and said...

i had a coolant leak in this car a while back and had it fixed. then i got a check engine light and a code to replace thermostat. i replaced it and now it leaks. i purchased a cheap one from amazon around 40-50 dollars but one from a parts store would have cost 80+ so maybe its just a cheap...

Edit: forgot a comma in the topic. to be clear the thermostat was replaced, not the hose. I replaced the thermostat on my 2012 chevy cruze ltz and it was dripping from the radiator hose where it connects to the thermostat housing. i pushed it up on there harder but over the next few days i found...

OK, let’s start! I had multiple Cruze cars since 2011, unfortunately I can’t say I have/had one free of issues! Talking about the heating and cooling, I saw different & multiple issues reported by people. I did many changes to my cars during the years and I’m going to share with you a few...
