2014 Chevy Cruze, 1.8L, message popped off saying “ac off due to high engine temp”. Replaced the thermostat, therm housing and water outlet, temp sensor ( all came pre assembled, ACDelco, from RockAuto), everything is torqued to spec, but upon starting, the message didn’t go away and the fans still sound like they’re trying to get the car airborne, nor does the temp gauge appear to be moving. Any ideas?

what engine codes did you have prior to replacing the part

Did you disconnect the battery before changing thermostat?

make sure all air is bled from system.

check your cooling fan for possible bad resistor.

All this is is quite normal. You need to clear the codes with a scanner or by disconnecting your battery for about an hour. This will both clear the code, and get the fan running normally again.

Yep. This seemed to work. I had started raging around and this is what a lot of people were saying. Took the battery terminals off and my wife and I went for a walk, came back and everything worked normal. Thanks!
