Hello there! I’m new here! I have a 14 cruze lt w 82,170 miles on it , I noticed 2 weeks ago when I went to jump a car my reservoir was almost empty. I filled it up n now it was at the bottom again. My temp gage was fine also, if I woulda never jumped a car I wouldn’t of known . I took it in fri for a diagnostic test n they said the turbo coolant feed pipe was leaking n would need to replace that, the coolant return pipe, oil return pipe, exhaust manifold gasket. They said it wasn’t covered under powertrAin. Why not?!? I just had the turbo replaced back in October , and last month I had a leak n took it in bc it smelt like antifreeze turned out it was the oil pan gasket they fixed it came home it’s still leaking, take it back in n the oil plug was bad. I’ve started a complaint w gm bc I shouldn’t b responsible for this bc I smelt antifreeze then n when they changed my turbo they mess w those lines n wat if they messed sumn up . Anyone else have this issue ?????

Well looks like there is a coolant flow and return connection. Looks like items 19 and 20 in the attached link. Could you order the parts and fit them yourself or have an experience DIY mechanic around?

Anyone have any input to this.. I think there are a few youtube videos on replacing the turbo so they should cove this as the pipes are connected to the turbo.

Here is a video where he talks about the coolant pipes.. Doesn't look difficult.

I would say so yes. The water outlet pipe is covered under powertrain as is the turbo.. This is basically part of the turbo so I would say it should be covered. In fact those lines would have been disturbed as part of the turbo replacement so the dealer has already messed with them.. Now they leak so yes they should cover this.

There is also a lady from Chevvy customer care that monitors these forums so she maybe able to help if the dealer tells you its not covered.

I'm not sure how long the warranty on repair work is, but if the turbo was replaced in October, I wouldn't hold a lot of hope for help for "different by related" in March.

I believe they said it’s got a yr warranty on it . I think I messed up by going to a diff hubler dealership then the one I always go to . But the one I went to is closer to my house . But like I said who knows how long it been leaking bc my temp gage was fine n I wouldn’t of known if I wouldn’t of jumped someone’s car . I honestly think they should cover this bc they done messed w that stuff taking turbo off n they said it took awhile bc it was givin them a hard time . Plus they r pipes not hoses . I’m gonna call Chevy here in a few n check on my status

Yes I'd defintely say the dealer who replaced the turbo should fix this as you got an independent verification that those pipes are leaking.

Well bad news . They said it’s no it’s not covered and if I can prove the dealer that put turbo in messed sumn up then we can see . Makes me mad ! Also I’ve noticed this only 2 times now today was the 2nd time , when I go to start my car it like putters kind of like when ur out of gas , like the engine jerks a little bit u can feel it n u just got to shut the car off , . U know what this could be ? I turn it off then back on n it’s fine like I said this is only 2 times in 2 weeks it’s ever done this

I'd call the dealer that changed out the turbo. Tell them that they disconnected those hoses to change the turbo, now those hoses leak and you want them to replace the hoses...

Oh the engine jerking a little on start up.. it maybe mis-firing a little when cold. Personally I wouldn't worry about it. Eventually it might get worse and eventually the check engine light comes on then we can read the code.. For free at an autoparts store.

I think if you take it to the dealer they will say "unable to replicate fault".. Might be worth going back before the warranty runs out though as it could be a spark plug or the coil block slowly breaking down which is a fairly inexpensive fix anyway.

In fact even a novice can replace that part so any of us could talk you through that if an when the time comes.

Ohhh.. hmm then I suspect that the ground (negative battery cable) cable might be getting loose. The headlights dimming kinda points to that issue. This is a common fault and replacing the ground cable seems to be the cure all for all manner of ailments.

As its still in warranty I would ask the dealer to check this out. Once again its a simple fix, the problem maybe getting the dealer to replicate the fault.
