Hello everyone,
Name's Rob, I'm new to the forum and bought a used 2011 Chevy Cruze LTZ(71,800 miles) about a little over 3 weeks ago. I'm enjoying the new car, but as i keep researching into this model year Cruze I can't help but worry about all the issues this year Cruze has had. Now when I bought the car it did come with a Carfax history report, so I know that almost all of the maintenance was done on time(except for a tranny flush at 50K which I did a week after I bought the car at 72K) I also work at a Chevy dealership so I was able to look into all of the records for this car that involves any repairs/recalls that were done. I know there have been multiple recalls and I know that they were all done to my car. I also know that the water pump was replaced at 47K(Scares me) and the fuel tank fuel pump module + water outlet were replaced at 57K(also scares me). I have put about 2000 miles on the car so far with no problems at all(other than a windshield wiper blade bending due to New England weather) and I plan on changing the oil within the next 500 miles just as a precautionary measure.(will also check other fluids) Basically what i'm getting at is if i keep up with the maintenance (everything's up to date just need to do spark plugs at 100K but the car sometimes feels rough when its idling so i may do those early) will this car be a reliable mode of transportation that wont cost me an arm and a leg? And is there anyone out there with a 2011 cruze 1.4t w/ a 6spd auto that has had basically no problems with the car? I've read multiple horror stories that send chills up my spine and considering this is the first car I've bought from a dealership and the first auto loan I have taken out, I don't want to end up with a lemon that could end up costing me thousands of dollars. The tranny isnt that bad IMO I know the Cruze isn't a sports car so i'm not worried about the tranny going as much as im worried about stupid things like water & fuel pumps going constantly. I don't beat on the car and I think it gets up and goes when I need it to. so any advice/feedback pertaining to the model/year Cruze would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
