Jumped in my Cruze to leave work the other day and as I clutched to reverse, I heard an awful metallic pop. Then I realized my clutch pedal was much softer than usual, Shifts are fine, no grinding and the pedal returns but it definitely feels soft. Brought it over to my mechanic and we got looking around and I eventually pulled off the left hand kick plate and sill and found the broken pedal spring laying on the carpet matting.
Mechanic ordered a new one for like $2.50 from the dealer but has anybody had any experience replacing one? What's the best "angle of attack" for a project like this? Can it be done without completely disassembling the dashboard?
