Should definitely cut out each page and scan it.... legally of course...
2012 Chilton GM Volume 2 Service Manual
Checked one out at our library last night, has 110 pages for the Cruze, and packed with line drawings. First 8 pages covers all of the specifications and maintenance procedures. Then everything on common how to replace, brakes, suspension, steering engine overhaul, appreciate on line drawing, showing the location of all the sensors. Covers both the 1.8 and 1.4 liter engines.
What it does lack is any schematic drawings, need the shop manual for this and spread out over 3,000 pages.
Somebody was asking which of the two are the MAP sensor, right on page 10-92, two identical looking sensors on the center top firewall side of the engine. One toward the rear of the engine is the MAP sensor, other toward the front is the Barometric sensor. Ha, just go to your local library to learn stuff like this.
Ours is small, small town, but still have all the Chilton service manuals plus a bunch of old magazines.

Checked out a 3 CD set from our library, one of the disks flew apart, unlucky me. Said I had to replace the entire album. Found a beautiful used one for ten bucks, wouldn't take it, wanted a brand new one for 40 bucks. Teed me off, but had to pay it. Not sure if I want to tear out pages from a book.
This book is two years old already, swear I am the first to crack it open.
Oh, in the front say the oil capacity of the manual transmission is 4 1/2 pints. Wonder if this is correct, and why couldn't GM put this in the owners manual?

Bullshit on replacing with NEW. It's not like CDs have an expiration date. If it works it works. All scratched up I could see but give me a break!

Could you provide the exact title so that I could search libraries in Minnesota? Last time I was at the library in minnesota that included car manuals I thought Chiltons was on CD. Maybe it's the Mitchel Manuals that I'm thinking about.
Alldata seems to have changed the format that is avalible in the Library/School edition that's found at all the libraries in Minnesota, and I can no longer use my laptop to connect to the library and download and print documents.

Thanks for the info NickD. I'm suprised Chiltons hasn't gone digital. I remember those Multi-Car books several years ago when I was wrenching on the Intrigues.
I had thought you purchased a factory 3 volume set from a member on this site? Did that deal fall through, or who got them. I think it was the 2011 Service Manual set.

Yes I have them, what a mess, can't put any subject together. Did find the brake section in volume one, more like little block diagrams, had to refer to volume two and page through over 80 pages to find the pinout drawing for the ABS modulator to get the pin numbers for the pressure motor. Volume three has the DCT codes.
Did you know you are not suppose to drink brake fluid? Think I got the idea after reading this over a hundred times. But now it has me curious as to what it taste like. No internal drawings of the rear disk caliper, but use to show this in earlier manuals.
Each page is slightly less than 3 mil thick, so judging by the height of the stack, must be over 2,000 pages. If tracing out a circuit, have to thumb through about this many pages, and have a darn good memory. Wonder who came up with this.
