Hi. Cruzer:

I have damaged my oil pan plug. I will ask a local shop to change oil this time. The shop is charging $39.99+tax for the synthetic oil change. They also charge $3 for the stripped oil pan plug. I do not know if they will use the original plug. I want to buy the plug myself. I went to Advanced Auto Parts, PepBoy, but could not find plug. I also went chevy dealer, the dealer charge the plug $18.89+tax. I need your help, where could I get the plug, not that crazy expansive?

Thanks.

Dan

There's a Dorman equivalent in the Rockauto catalog. You could try either ordering a plug from there, or seeing if you could use the part number to find something locally.

Here is the Rockauto page and part http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=6350976&cc=1501801&jsn=430 | RockAuto or Advanced Auto Parts http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...-m14-1.50-head-size-19mm-090-171.1/10031833-P The one from RockAuto is pretty much like the one we have in our cars already. So if you don't need immediately I would buy it from there

As long as it's an M14 -1.5 (thread) it will be good.. on my wife's 1.4 I used a ford oil pan plug same specs and worked just fine. They obviously didn't have it on the shelf and spent only a mere $5 or less at Autozone. Doesn't necessarily have to be a GM product to make it work..
