2012 Eco Turbo Issue?

The wastegate rattle you probably saw on the forum is a Gen 2 Cruze (2016+ with the new 1.4L) issue.

That said, I haven't heard of any noise associated with the failure on a Gen 1 turbo, BUT the wastegate pivot pin wearing out and leading to a P0299 turbo underboost code is relatively common as they get close to 100K on the clock. Other rattle things that come to mind on the Gen 1 are A/C lines (mostly on acceleration ~2500 RPM) and just a loose heat shield.

Without a flagged CEL or code stored, random power loss can be difficult to track down. If you haven't already, it wouldn't hurt to replace spark plugs and give the coil pack a look over - the coil packs are also known for crapping out with age. If it's your first time removing it, be very gently and pull straight up - do not wiggle it loose.
