You could technically fight this because it does not say its not covered specifically. Just a thought.
You could try, but I doubt if it would fly. The overall theme is to warrant everything internal to the engine and exclude everything that just bolts to the engine. They also seem to be excluding everything electrical unless it's internal. And they're certainly not going to cover the spark plugs themselves for 5/100,000.

I think my fear here is that in pulling the plugs, someone dropped something in to the engine and then damaged it. Another reason to have a different dealer look at this. At the very minimum, I'd be starting a documentation trail.

Unfortunately the car broke down 90 miles from where we live. Roadside assistance would only tow 15 miles. The nearest town was 29 miles. Where it is now is the only chevy dealer in that town. We would have to tow it 90 miles. I opened a case with general motors because if there is an engine issue I feel the powertrain should cover it since like I have been told by numerous people it shouldn't take out the engine. The dealership where we bought the car won't get involved because they don't want to step on another's toes.
I find that odd as well, under the Powertrain Warranty you should be towed to the closest G.M. Dealer. If it winds up not being a covered repair then you would need to pay for the tow.

  • Roadside Assistance is included during the vehicles Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty, Limited Powertrain Warranty, and/or Hybrid-Specific Limited Warranty.

  • Q:Are there any costs to me for using Roadside Assistance?A:There is generally no charge for any of the services listed under "What Is Roadside Assistance?" while the vehicle is covered by the complimentary Roadside Assistance service. However, additional charges may be incurred for some services, including towing the vehicle beyond the closest GM dealer for non-warranty parts and labor or for lost key replacements. For details and additional information, please refer to Section 7 of the Owner's Manual

Buy AAA RV plus. They will tow 100 miles, but you will have to wait a day after purchase, not that I'm advocating this...
I have this for Autos and not sure that would work for a couple reasons? AAA used to make you wait a year to upgrade to the Plus plan and a couple of years ago changed it to only a month before you could upgrade. Plus the AAA RV Plus is not for towing Cars?

Enhance your AAA Plus or AAA Premier benefits by adding RV coverage. RV+ provides up to 100 driving miles of towing for motor homes, pickup trucks with campers, travel trailers (including fifth wheel), motorcycles, camping trailers, snowmobile trailers, and boat trailers.

And that's where she is now. That's who's telling her she needs a new engine - on her dime.
That Roadside Assistance would only offer to tow them 15 miles, the nearest town was 29 miles and the nearest Chevy Dealer was 90 miles confuses me? Their job is to tow you to the nearest Chevy Dealer period. Then when you find out the repair isn't covered the tow wont be covered as planned, goes hand in hand. This is the main reason I went with the AAA+ to supplement any Warranty coverage.

The car broke down 90 miles from home. It was towed to the nearest Chevy dealer, where it is now. But the story (as reported here) smells. But since the car won't run at all, the options to take to to another dealer is limited. Any tow job would be on her dime.

One idea might be the self-service option: Rent a U-Haul truck and tow dolly. As long as the front wheels are off the ground, that should be fine. A quick check suggests that's going to be around $250 with rental and mileage charges.

Although it seems they no longer call it RV plus, just plus, I beg to differ. Look at this (select plus).

To insure I get the right AAA it wants me to put in my zip code which leads me back to Southern California. However I now remember why I was even more pissed off, as Arizona, the State my Computer seems to think I live in does not have that 90 day waiting period. Still not sure about the RV thing but the Plus membership for autos allows for 4 100 mile tows. Thanks for somewhat 'correcting' me!

Existing members with AAA Plus® level of benefits may upgrade to AAA Premier® at any time.
