2013 cruze interior???

1326 Views 5 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  dhpnet
I have a 2013 Cruze.

I want to do the dashboard (I found a vinyl i really like to do the plastic trim pieces.)

But how can I change the tan material on the dashboard and door panels to a black color?

I don't even know what material it is. Is it a vinyl? plastic?

I appreciate any help or advice!

what trim level do you have? Does it have leather or cloth?

And finally, are you talking about doing the inserts (the cloth or leather inserts), or the actual dash cover?
I'm not sure what you mean when you say "trim level"? I am really new to this stuff.

and I was talking about the tan areas that appear to be vinyl or some sort of plastic.

I have a vinyl that I like for the grey trim pieces around the radio and gear shift area.

if that doesn't make sense, my apologies. I'm still trying to get an understanding

Is it an ECO / LS / LT / 2LT / LTZ / Premier, Does it have the RS option or is it a CTD? I think I got them all, but some else can correct me if not.
This sounds like the interior of a 2013 Cruze LS. What others have done is found cloth and installed it over the existing vinyl material. Not sure if there are post on here but on the FB group 2 people usually post their interior. The dash pieces are simple, the doors you have to break and reattach them from the door panel with screws, washers, and glue.

Center console here you go.

I did similar with CF Vinyl. The wheel was the hardest part for me, I ended up using 3 pieces at the bottom and making it look like 1 piece.
It sounds like you are trying to change the fabric panels on the dash. If it is gray, and the seats are gray, then you most likely have an LS model and the material is vinyl. If it is tan, and you have tan leather seats, then you have an LT2 or LTZ, and the dash trim is leather.

The panels mostly just snap in place. Do a search on the forum for replacing fabric dash panels. This question has been asked and answered A LOT on the forum.

If you want to reupholster them, then just remove the panels and wrap them in new material. The doors are a little harder, as mentioned previously. They have been attached by melting some plastic rivets on the back of the door panel. You have to cut the rivets and then find a way to reattach them.
