2014 1.8 ls spark plug gap question & throttle response
Hello I have an auto trans 2014 1.8 ls and wanted to know if anyone with the same car that adjusted their spark plug gap fixed throttle response lag. Another thing to note, I have A/C on all the time because its hot in texas
right now everything stock except k&n sri
edit: made the change to .028 gap on all spark plugs. there is a noticeable difference in performance didnt change lag that much, but it did help. the ride is so much smoother with no jerking now.. stock was .024 .023 .025 .025

So you adjusted your plug gap? First off what was the reason for adjusting it? Were the gaps all over and inconsistent? Or just trying to get more out of a 1.8? I had the 1.8 LS myself but mine was a 6M and it really did not have that much power until tuned. What is going on with your car?
hi, i havent done anything yet, but in the low end there is usually a delay probably around a 1 second jerk before it hits gear. Another thing to note, I have A/C on all the time because its hot in texas

Mine had the gaps all over the place. Actually what I've found was that the spark plugs I pulled out had the gap beyond any measurement lol. I just put in new copper plugs with .35 gap, the engine is a lot smoother. If you're scared, you can try .28-.30
