Does anyone have any steps on replacing the turbo on the diesel? I’ve only had luck finding how to’s on the 1.4 gasser. My turbo went out the other night not sure if it’s just pull off and put new one on or if there are other parts I should replace with it. Thanks for any tips

I think it's actually pretty straightforward - the torque specs would be what I'd be most interested in.

Just replaced my turbo last weekend. You will need a variety of metric sockets and extensions, ratchet wrench’s will come in handy to remove the heat shield off the DPF. Remove air intake system to Turbo.
Undo what you can from the top. Remove the turbo heat shield. Remove temp sensor from the turbo outlet pipe. Remove turbo outlet pipe from the turbo that goes to the inner cooler. 10 e torx (8mm works to)Remove the sensors out of the DPF. Undo the band clamp that holds the turbo and DPF together. Remove nuts and bolts off of DPF filter, on the heat shield. Under the car. Finish removing heat shield bolts. Remove heat shield. It’s tight but it will come out. Remove nuts from bottom exhaust connection to DPF. Now you can have access to the DPF mount to the motor block. You will need deep socket and short extension 13 or 15 mm socket.
Now you can move the DPF to the side a little bit, but it will help. Undo the A/C drive belt. Remove a/c wire connections. Undo the 3 bolts 13mm the top left one will not come all the way out. Mine jammed up on the a/c line. Hold it up with a bungee strap. Remove the a/c bracket to the motor block 15mm. Now the turbo outlet tube can be pulled down and tucked up by the passenger side frame. You will now remove the turbo oil drain tube to the block 15mm. Pry on it gently and it will come out. Has a o ring on the end. Now you should be able to see the turbo mount nuts. 11 or 12mm. I broke both studs. Rock Auto has a turbo mount kit $20 has all the gaskets and bolts. A long extension you will need 18”. Remove the two nut and the the top nut and pull the turbo off. Took 4 hrs to remove turbo. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies. I’m waiting on parts right now hopefully have em by next weekend. I’m assuming I have oil in my CAC, there’s oil coming out around turbo and lots of smoke out exhaust. Do I need to do anything other than drain the oil out of the CAC?

FYI, as far as torque specs go, here they are:

Turbocharger/Exhaust Manifold Nuts:
First Pass: 11 lb ft, Second Pass: 21 lb ft

DPF to Turbo Clamp Nut:
15 lb ft

Turbo Oil Return Pipe Bolts:
Lower (x1) 18 lb ft
Upper (x2) 80 lb in

Turbo Oil Feed Pipe Bolts:
15 lb ft

That should cover all the bolts needed to be removed during the turbocharger replacement.
