bought new in 2013, 20K miles, Wife doesnt drive that much. brakes have been sqeaking pretty bad lately... suggestions? I know theres plenty of pad left.

also, just yesterday, she got a message saying "AC off due to engine overheat" or something similar... fluids are fine. anyone have this issue?

Give the brakes a good hose down. Brake dust and dirt will build up in there and cause squeaking. Double check the coolant level when the engine is cold. It should be at the top of the arrow embossed on the side of the tank.

The right rear drum is a common squealer on drum-brake equipped Cruzes (LS, 1LT, Eco). It's relatively easy to take the drum off and clean if you've ever worked with brakes before.

Most commonly you'll see that A/C off message with either low coolant level (these things leak EVERYWHERE depending on which engine you have), or a bad temperature sensor. Check the level when cold and add and keep and eye on it if necessary. They take a 50/50 mix of orange Dexcool (Prestone or whatever is at the parts store is fine) and water.
