2015 Cruze RPM

Hi all. I just bought a 2015 Chevy Cruze. I like it, but my resting RPM is 850, and my RPM on the highway going 65 is 2300. The car has 16K on it, and I?m concerned because I feel like I?m hearing the engine above 2000 RPM. Is this normal? Any help would be appreciated.

You're hearing the turbo. Was this a used car? If so it may have had the resonator delete modification done by the previous owner.
Okay, so that sound is normal. Good to know. Does that RPM look normal?

Not really, you might see a little burst, feel it too. It is a tiny turbo designed to provide boost at the RPM you have mentioned.
So I shouldn?t hear it the entire time? I?m just not sure if I should be hearing it. Now, my check engine light came on...
Can you describe the sound at all? The turbo would be very high pitched if it is that.

It?s not high pitched. It just sounds like it?s constsntly revving...
Get the check engine light squared away.....it may be related to what you are hearing.

The operating rpm you indicate (idle and at speed) are normal.

Now with a check engine light you should take it in for service. That car should still be under the B2B warranty (depending on exact initial purchase date) and will definitely be under the power train warranty. You shouldn't hear a "constantly revving" sound. You didn't say which trim you have but the RPMs you reported are normal for the LT and LTZ. The ECO MT should be at 2000 RPM at 65 MPH.
