We just purchased a 2015 Cruze thurs and the service battery charging system message came on and the battery light is on as well. Took it to AutoZone and the battery is fine. What else could be the problem? Manual says we should see dealer. Should we take it back to the place we bought it (Toyota dealership) or a Chevy dealership.

Take it to a Chevy dealer......Toyota dealer has no service info for your specific car available.

Most likely this is a alternator (charging) related problem.

How many miles? While I understand the "just purchased" angle, if there's fewer than 36,000 miles on it, it should still be covered by a bumper to bumper warranty. So, you shouldn't be out of pocket by letting the Chevy dealer work on it.

I can't find anywhere where someone came back and gave an answer to the problem on any posts relating to this .
