I want to swap out the stock radio for a nice JVC apple car play radio. I already found a 2 din faceplate, but I need help figuring out the wirering any ideas ?
Keep in mind that much of the communication between the radio and the car is done via the car's computer bus. You'll need a radio or adapter that "speaks" the car's language. How well it does that will determine how well you like the install.

My car doesn't have onstar and any of the fancy features. The canbus connection on the current headunit is only to display climate control settings right? I don't care too much about not being able to see how fast the fan is in the car is spinning as I can see on the knob itself.
Some the functions of the GMLAN:
  • Turn signal sounds
  • Hazzard signal clicks
  • Warning Chimes
  • Turn on/Turn off
  • A/C settings
  • Personalization of the car (setting options)
  • Steering wheel controls
  • Coordination with the Telemetrics unit, such as handsfree calling.
  • Activate backup camera

There are adapters that do some of that, but I think they fall short on doing all of them.
