I think we should confirm what kind of DRL you have as you haven't clearly specified. Do you have the Gen 2 2016 or one of those Gen 1 2016's? What does the Cruze look like?
The Gen1 DRL is a small strip near the fog light housing at the bottom of the bumper if it's a 2015+ with a higher level trim. The absolute base level trim does not have these, the headlight instead acts as the DRL.
The Gen2 DRL is a strip in the headlight itself, again, if it's a higher level trim. The base level trim just has the headlight bulb run as a DRL.
