Hi guys,
I'm based in Australia and had the good old check engine light appear just last week,
I took it to a local Mechanic who went over the car with Diag tools and found P0171
Common error, checked for leaks found none.. then decided to change the MAF sensor, changed it to a brand new BOSCH MAF sensor reset the error and test drove, error appeared again within 5 minutes.. back to square one..
After a few hours of going over the car he was unable to locate any leaks, so I had to take it directly to Holden to inspect, they charge $165 straight up to inspect.. and after an hour gave me a call informing me the intercooler mount bracket was broken and need to be replaced,
Also along with this mentioned that the hoses would need to be replaced
Purge Solinod
Water Pump leaking
Turbo not sitting in mount has been hit on under body and hanging (Leaking pressure between throttle Body + Intercooler)
Oil Leak at front crank steel?
Coolant resivor to be replaced,
few hoses to replace (suggested)
All up looking at around $3,300 including labour.. here I was thinking it would be cheap.. Nope!
Attached Parts which come to $2,000 !
I've been the only owner of this Cruze 2013 since new, and keen to get this back on the road.. So have decided to go ahead with the crazy costing repair..
I wanted to post this up here so others could see how much you might be up for when you get this P0171 error
My car is sitting at 114,000km I have also approached Holden directly to see if they would cover any of these parts under warranty, out of godwill because the car has lapsed the warranty period..
