Why, why why? Didn't GM offer a Mr. Goodwrench 30 minute Oil change at one time. If it wasn't for the fact that this Service was FREE I would have gone to Montgomery Wards:dazed002:. At 14 thousand miles I got the 15K Service from my dealer (been getting those Interval services all my life and couldn't believe what the Dealer sold me for $129.95, total ripoff.) Needless to say that is why this one was on the house! I was treated with great respect as a valued customer, in fact my GM Dealer has always exceeded my expectations, well until that last time. I avoided speaking to any sales people or sitting in a showroom car this time as salesmen will flock to you if you do. Also got a Haircut!

The dealer by my house wants to keep my car for a whole day. It's crazy. I would use them if they could do it in a reasonable amount of time. But, I am not going to rent a car just so that they can do an oil change. They also refused to do my first oil change because I still had about 30% on the DIC. I decided to do it myself and haven't looked back. I avoid the dealer service department as much as possible now.

I laughed at this, as there was a local dealer near me about 10 years ago that did actually have a resident barber. Even back then I thought that was diversification. I've gone to go get my hair cut, and I came back with a new car.. Really?? I guess anything is possible.

My dealer takes a pretty long time to do an oil change. You can guarantee you’re going to be in there for at least an hour and a half, or 2. Good news is, I know all of the sales/ service staff. My best friend of 35 years works there. They have a cafe. All of the Starbucks like drinks. Also, there is a Chinese restaurant and a real Starbucks, across the street. And, it’s actually across a side street, where there really is no traffic, so you can just walk across the 2 lanes, and be there. The dealership cafe has everything. Gourmet hot dogs, panini wraps, cheeseburgers, Philly cheesesteaks. Every soft drink/ energy drink imaginable. They even have mango, strawberry, banana, pina colada smoothies. So, it’s really no hassle. Just plan on being there for at least 2 hours. Last time I was there, they weren’t taking any new service customers, because they couldn’t even get all of the work done, that they had. They are also the main GM parts hub for the west coast. If you live in the western part of the US, chances are, your parts are coming out of their warehouses.

Your Dealer distributes GM parts, I've heard of Dealers reselling parts but not acting as a distributer . Can you get your hair done though? There is nothing at my Dealer although they will shuttle you to wherever you want to go. One time I had them take me to the Casino, that was the cost of 5 Oil changes alone, never again!
