People just like to flock together like a bunch of geese on these roads, this is because most people are idiots. Sure try like heck to avoid this, if it requires speeding up or slowing down.

Accidents don't happen, idiots happen.

Ouch.

People drive the same regardless of conditions. The difference is in good conditions the margins for error are a lot larger. In poor conditions many people are now literally driving outside those margins so they have zero room for error.

From the reports I saw on tv went from normal conditions to a white out very quickly. I try and not speculate about why something happens, regardless of the reasons it sucks when we have such a big accident.

I saw the same report - no notice white out conditions. People panic and do stupid things when this happens.

With all due respect, how do you know you saw the same report I did? You don't know that.

The SAME REPORT doesn't have to mean the same channel. 'What's the Frequency Kenneth?'
Could be quite a settlement issue, you are at fault for hitting the guy in front of you, hail of a lot worse with injuries, more expensive than death. Ha, I don't make the laws. And the guy that rear ends you is at fault, talk about a chain reaction.

Not only the people directly involved with this so-called accident, but the huge traffic jam created behind. Sure most of us experienced this at one time or another, I sure have and if on a very cold day you wish you stopped at the last gas station and filled your tank, but then you feel secure because you have plenty of gas, but if hit hard and ruptured your tank, you wish your tank was empty.

Living in the Chicago area for a good time, sure can't leave two feet in front of you, some semi will try to pull in in front of you. Everybody is in a big rush.

Wife ran into an accident on I-90 about 30 miles north of Madison, was fairly new here at the time, and really didn't know her way around. She called me on her cell. I got her location, and fortunately she was only a 1/4 a mile from an exit. Ha, using goggle maps and constant talking on our cell phones, guided her on county and state roads, then back onto the interstate where it was deserted. Or she still would be sitting there.

Rushing causes stuff like this until people finally start to wake up, trying to save a couple of minutes can cost you hours and hours.

The report of near instantaneous White Out conditions hit national news. The exact same, doubtful unless we watched the same national news, but the report of the white out - yes.
