A/T flush

I have a 2017 cruze that I purchased new that now has 37000 trouble free miles.
Stopped by the local chevy dealer to get an idea what it costs to replace the automatic transmission fluid and when it needs to be done. They told me 45000 miles or three years and is due for maintenance. Their service is $299 to flush the transmission and that it takes about 90 minutes.
Does this sound reasonable?

Here is the deal, if they are doing a proper flush that changes out all the ATF, then $300 is a going price. Doing a drain and fill service every 45k is also a standard recommendation. But a flush every 45k is way over kill.

In a nut shell, what you were told is reasonable.

I don't change my engine oil halfway. I don't plan on doing the trans halfway either.

One of these days I'm taking mine in for a complete fluid change. Except the engine oil.
With my old 12 I did a dump and fill at 95K and then again at 150K. I was going to do it again at 200K but traded it in at 190K. On my daughters 2011 I did a dump and fill at 108K. We purchased it at 77K so I am not sure if it had been done before. For me since I do my own work, a gallon of AT juice is cheap insurance.

That is what the original intervals were (90K). At some point in time they changed the recommendation to every 45K miles, not sure if they are the same trans models from a 11/12 to a 17.

Dump and fill or flush, either way works fine.

If you want to try it yourself or at least know what they should be doing...
