Hello everyone. I have 2012 Cruze LT 1.4. And just replaced the Temp sensor on top of the motor. Thought I had it whipped. But 3 days later the same thing popped up and it got hot pretty fast I might add. But since then it's been fine. I wouldn't worry about it much if it were not my daughters car she's 17. I did not disconnect the negative side of the battery after changing it.

Check the coolant temp sensor for presence of coolant in the terminals. If the coolant is full and the temp sensor is known good alot of the time it can be noticed that theres coolant intrusion in the harness from the old temp sensor and that will skew the resistance readings. If there is coolant its best to go to the dealer and purchase and install a new pigtail

There's another temp sensor in the radiator. Check for anything that's leaking/causing it to not hold pressure - the water outlet on the drivers side of the motor is a common leak point.
