Almost but not quite!

Just a little feel good Cruze story for a Saurday morning!

The Cruze was my 18 year old son's car but he decided that he wanted to get a Dodge Dart instead. We were going to trade the Cruse in on a sweet 2013 Dart Limited. It is a 13 leftover with 1750 miles on it and loaded with everything. EVERYTHING!! HID's, sun roof, leather, 8.4 touch screen, dual exhaust, 1.4L turbo, 6 speed auto, LED instrument cluster...the list goes on! Turns out the dealership would only give $9000 for a 14 Cruze in excellent shape, 17000 miles and balance of factory warranty! No deal! He bought the Dart with no trade! So we planned on selling the Cruze for $13900 OBO but luck have it that my 17 year old son decided to get a job and wanted the Cruze! Problem solved...oldest got his Dart, youngest got a awesome Cruze and we didn't have to sell anything (except the cold air intake)

We owed $11800 on the Cruze so the extra $2800 would have been tacked to the Dart loan at a higher payment so my oldest is happy to have a $40-$50 per month cheaper payment! LOL Plus he saved BIG by buying a 13 leftover! We are still battling a wet smell in the trunk of the Cruze...dealership found a leaking tail light seal that let 4" of water into the trunk. It smelled like a gym locker but we have it almost cleared up now!

The Dart isn't a bad vehicle, but the dash is what throws me off in them. Just seems like so much is going on, just like the 200s. But good job on the deal! Still a nice ride!

Really? I actually love the dash and the touchscreen console. Lol. It's actually the only thing I like and the exhaust note.

Good job keeping the Cruze. I'm sure your 17yr old son is stoked.

X2. It was way to distracting for me.

Nice rides though, I love the exterior looks of the Dart, my favorite is the LED tail lights, the way it is outlined like the Charger.

The new Charger is beautiful with those LED lights. Dodge really hit the nail there.

Yeah it just seems like too much is going on, not a distraction point but I feel like you have a lot in front of you. I'm a simple guy and that to me is too much. I also myself like the taillights

Then I guess I love shiny things and lots of buttons lol. Ask my wife. She laughs at me all the time.
I love the touchscreen and the uConnect interface! It is one of the best I have ever used. I am a little bias as it is the same system that I have in my Ram! The LED cluster/DIC is user programmable! You can change where the outside temp, compass, MPG, etc appears on the screen and what info displays in the center display. It's not too distracting...it won't even let you configure the screen while in gear other than changing from speedo to temp or tire pressure readouts.

I guess I'll come down there and ask your wife then ! It's Smowing here .......

Yeah, that 8.4 inch touchscreen console is pretty nice. I too also like the signature taillight design but that's where it stops!!

I haven't driven one but I have to give dodge props for actually offering more than two under powered engine options like the cruze. If I didn't want the 1.4 turbo engine cruze I'm forced to get the even more lethargic 1.8L. Most darts come equipped with the 2.4L with 184HP Which would give adequate acceleration with no turbo lag, but also come with a MPG penalty.

The Dart appears much smaller than the cruze but still weights 3200lbs? I mentioned the MPG is worse than say a cruze 1.4T(all trims), however the dart 2.4L matches the MPG one would get with a cruze 1.8L. Guess that shows how crappy the cruze 1.8L really is!
