I haven't heard about a hybrid version of the Cruze, however, the Cruze Eco achieves up to an estimated 40 mpg on the highway when combined with a six-speed manual transmission which means it delivers hybrid-like efficiency. That's a least a good start ;) .

theres no confirmation on a cruze hybrid yet. also seeing as how theyre already having a heck of a time trying to convince people to buy the volt, i doubt a hybrid cruze will make it to the market. plus why would you need a hybrid cruze when the cruze eco gives you very good mileage already.

hybrids cost too much, dont last as long as regular cars(due to 5 year or so lifespan on battery packs), have a bigger carbon footprint due to its production. there are cars now that have hybrid like mileage. two of the most notable ones are the cruze eco and hyundai veloster. although both havent been produced yet. but it shows you that you can get good gas mileage without having to go with a hybrid.

Car lovers can expect a hybrid version of the Cruze in the near future as the future holds good for hybrid cars only. Even present day cost is the main hindrance for the great acceptance of hybrid cars, governments are working over time to provide tax benefits to protect environment for hybrid cars.

Still there is no confident news out on hybrid variety of Chevy Cruze. But as every other members expectation, hybrid holds for the future for car industry and it will be no wonder to see Cruze hybrid in the near future.

It's always possible that there maybe a hybrid version of the Cruze down the pipe, but as another poster here mentioned, it may have to wait on the results of the Volt. I don't think that GM will make just a huge line of electric cars, but some models obviously may have that option.

they don't protect the environment. its been proven on numerous occasion that the production and total lifespan of a hybrid car has a much larger carbon footprint than the production and total lifespan of a gasoline powered car. the funny thing is you are actually hurting the environment more by buying a hybrid car.

the future for the car industry is definitely not hybrids. they cost more to make, hurt the environment more due to the waste generated by producing the battery packs and other components, and also cost more to purchase. ethanol fuel has a bigger chance of helping the future of the car industry.

An hybrid Cruze would be an instant hit if comes with great future and at affordable cost just like the normal version. But I hope Cruze fans have to wait for some more time to witness the production of hybrid.
