Class A and A/B tend to be larger and very clean sounding along with expensive...kind of "old school"
Class D tend to be more compact and efficient, price can vary from cheap to pricey.
Most name brand companies have multiple series of amps ranging from inexpensive to higher cost models which tend to be better quality. Think Chevy vs Cadillac or Ford vs Lincoln.
Subwoofer amplifiers are designed strictly for low frequency and tend to require larger gauge wiring to power them, usually a minimum of 8 gauge or larger.
Full range amps work well for powering speakers such as 6 1/2" or 6x9's ....50 watts per channel is sufficient.
