Just bought a 2012 cruze LT 1.4 turbo. I’m having an issue upon start up the automatic light control goes off/on constantly for a minute or 2 then stays on and works fine. But if I open the door it will happen again if I pop the truck it will happen again. And I also have a clicking going on at the same time on the passenger side. Which I can think is bcm. When the automatic light control stays on that clicking noise also stops and it’s a separate noise than the hazard light noise. To complicate things more the headlights will flicker coinsighting with the clicking noise and the constant on/off. And if I pop the trunk that blinking will happen with tail lights and with license plate lights. I am getting B3883 bcm code with no check engine light. A short to battery that’s constant and an open circuit b3883 that’s goes in and out.

The B3883 indicates a problem detected in the circuit for the license plate light. There's a subcode that details the fault. Odds are, it just means you have LED lights installed and it's causing a false "open circuit" fault. I would suggest replacing those bulbs with a ordinary bulb and see if the code goes away. I doubt if it's the main problem, but it will keep anyone from chasing a red herring from a code that's not part of the problem. If the code remains after resetting and changing the bulbs, then maybe you need to take a closer look at that.

I'm not sure what's causing the problem. I'm tempted to say that it's the dashboard sensor or the wiring to it. This isn't a problem I've seen reported on the forum before. My shop manual seems to indicate that the dashboard sensor just pops out. Nothing to disassemble.

I suggest you try to track down the clicking noise. I don't think the lights use relays (except for the high beams). And the relays are on the left side of the car (driver's side for North American cars).

I'm thinking you may have an aftermarket alarm system that hasn't been completely removed.

Thank you everyone for help! And I’ll introduce myself shortly. Chevy guy, thank you, you hit the nail on the coffin. It had an aftermarket alarm and remote start as soon as I programmed a new key fob it works brand new and now have the added benifit of remote start!
