Hey everybody, as the title suggest, I wanted to know if there is a way or place where we/the public can find out what the ratings/rankings of all the Chevy/GM dealerships in the US are?

If it is possible, it would really help potential Cruze buyers know which dealerships to avoid buying from, do to say: pushy/money hungry salesmen. It would also help potential Cruze buyers know which dealerships to avoid going to to get warranty work done at, do to say: the service department not being very knowledgeable, customer friendly, or effective at fixing issues that come up with this car.

I not really sure about that but I will say that out of the 4 local chevy dealerships their one I've Been to more than once to see if it was just that one pushy salemen I will say that if you make a mistake by letting them get a hold of your car keys you will be there forever trying to get them back they won't take no for a answer both times I visited this dealership I had to go their general sales manger to final get my keys back after he try his best to talk me into buying the car.

DealerRater.com is probably the most common but other than that there isn't much out there. Working at a dealership though I can tell you that other than seeing GM's internal ratings for Standards For Excellence (not publicly available) there is no reliable source. Sites like DealerRater tend to get way more people that complain than ones that compliment on a good experience. This holds true for for most industries, not just the auto industry. People who want to b!tch are much more vocal than those who had no problems or even a good experience.

GM's system is based on surveys sent out to everyone who purchased a new car or had warranty work done so it is much more statistically valid than internet sites open to comments from anyone. Those types of sites and their ratings are not statistically valid at all. Another thing I have seen is dealers adding their own good comments as well as competitors trying to give another dealership a bad rating. Basically I would take any site with a grain of salt. The best judge of a dealership is how you are treated when you arrive and are working a deal with a salesman. If you get a bad feeling then it is probably time to walk.

One thing I forgot to add is that not all customer complaints are valid either. One situation I recall is a customer who purchased a used Trailblazer from us. About a month later she ran over a screw and obviously got a flat. She came to the dealership yelling and screaming that we sold her a defective product and that we not only had to replace the tire with the screw in it, but the other three as well. She then proceeded to threaten that if we didn't do so she would go on every rating site she could find and give us bad reviews. That is just an example of why some comments should be taken with a grain of salt.

I don't want to give the name because sometimes I look up info for people on here from GM's internal site! :th_coolio: (But I would never disclose any private info) Also, our current rating is 5.0 on DealerRater.

In addition to everything Starks8 said, I also recommend that you look at ratings on Yelp.com and BBB.org. Take input from all those things and make your best judgement about where to shop for a car. Ultimately though, you have to go with who you are most comfortable.
