My 2014 Cruze is headed for its 4th battery in 3 years. First failed slowly over a couple of weeks at 2 years old, til they would no longer take a charge. Dealer replaced under warranty. Second lasted 4 months, they would not take a charge. Third battery has been in 3 months. The other day it started with a low 11.8 volts on the DIC. I noted a 15 volt charge rate. Since then its starting OK but consistently charges at 15 bolts. The battery shows 13 volts when I shut down, then drops into the 12's. No matter what the DIC reads 14.7 to 15.2 volts. It never drops below that, even after 50 miles freeway. Its like its always trying to charge the battery, even when the battery shows full charge. I just can't believe that I'd go through 4 brand new Delco batteries in 3 years. I have no other problems. Dealer keeps saying it normal but shouldn't the charge drop to 13 or so then the battery is topped off? My guess is that its charging too high and cooking the battery over time.
