The chevrolet cruze was actually designed for wtcc and Btcc , it was raced in 2008 befor the car was even released for sale . After the success of the Lacetti chevrolet wanted to use this credit to sell cars but unfortunately it did not work in uk and we rather watch the race cars than buy a chevrolet . But in turkey it's a well respected brand .

Wasn't really that interested in WTCC when I first heard about it back in 2011. I was like, yay, a car that looks like a Cruze, but with the exception of some sheet metal, shares very little in common with the one I own.
